Privacy policy

This policy covers londonremovalsvan.co.uk and the removals service operated under the name London Removals Van. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

• Enquiry details — your name, phone number, email address, pickup and drop-off addresses, preferred moving date and any notes sent through the quote form.
• Survey information — notes, measurements and, where you agree to a video survey, a record of what was discussed, including an inventory of what is being moved.
• Access details — the floor at each end, whether there is a lift, parking restrictions on the street, and storage-facility access arrangements.
• Photographs — images of rooms or items that you send us so we can size the van.
• Website analytics — anonymous usage data via Google Analytics.

Photographs you send us

We ask for photographs of rooms and items because it is the only reliable way to size a van. Those images show the inside of your home, so we treat them as part of the job file: held on access-controlled systems, visible to the crew doing your job, and deleted when the file is.

We do not use them for marketing, we do not post them anywhere, and we will not ask to.

Collections, and the seller’s details

On a collection job you give us a third party’s address — the person you bought the item from. We use it to plan and carry out the collection and for nothing else, we do not add them to anything, and we delete it with the rest of the job.

Equally, if you are the seller and a buyer has booked us, we know your address because the collection requires it. Same position: used for the job, deleted afterwards.

Property information and why it matters

A removals survey creates a record of what is inside an address and when that address will be empty. We treat that as sensitive. Survey notes and inventories are held on access-controlled systems, shared only with the crew assigned to your move, and never passed to third parties for marketing.

Who we share it with

Only where the job requires it: councils for parking arrangements; storage facilities where we are collecting or delivering on your behalf and they require authorisation; our insurers if a claim arises; and our accountants for financial records. We do not sell your information.

Where a sister site in this network is better placed to help, we do not pass on your details — you decide whether to contact them.

Why we hold it

• To prepare a quote, at your request, before any contract exists.
• To carry out a move you have booked.
• To arrange parking and building access permissions.
• To meet accounting and tax record-keeping requirements.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted once they are of no further use. Completed job records, including inventories, are kept for the period required for insurance, claims and accounting, and then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where no continuing obligation requires us to keep it, or object to how we use it.

Cookies

Google Analytics cookies to measure usage, and reCAPTCHA on the quote form to prevent automated abuse. No advertising or tracking cookies. Blocking cookies will not stop the site working.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page. Material changes affecting an active booking will be communicated to you directly.
