A wardrobe, a piano stool, a fridge, a mattress — one object that needs two people and a van.
Sometimes the entire job is one object. A wardrobe going to a sister in Walthamstow. A fridge that has to come out before the new one is delivered. A mattress going into storage.
One object still needs the right van, two people who know how to carry it, and blankets — a single item rattling around an empty load bed arrives in worse condition than a full load does.
We treat a one-item job with the same protection as a full removal. It is simply shorter.
What one item still needs
Blanketing and strapping. An unrestrained object in an empty van slides, tips and rubs against the walls for the whole journey. Securing it properly takes a few minutes and is the difference between it arriving as it left and arriving marked.
Two people, for anything with real weight or awkward geometry. Wardrobes, American fridges, corner sofas and sprung mattresses are all jobs where one person working alone risks both the item and themselves.
A realistic view of stairs. A double wardrobe that needs to go up four floors is not a quick job, and we would rather quote it as what it is than arrive and renegotiate in your hallway.
Appliances need disconnecting before we arrive. We will move a washing machine or a fridge; we do not plumb or unplumb them, and a fridge should be upright and defrosted.
